Lead Designer

The Rocksmith brand presented a unique challenge from a design perspective as it uses traditional game play mechanics but also incorporates the use of real instruments presenting the opportunity to create engaging user experiences that combines elements from both the digital and analog world. Utilizing my art background I was able to lead the team through clear visual designs which sped up the development time exponentially.

Developing piano for Rocksmith+ was equivalent to developing an entirely new game as the format, tech, and player experience varied greatly from existing guitar gameplay mechanics. I led a talented team of local and offsite developers through this effort from conception to completion.

The tuner was a interaction that happened just before a player began a song to ensure their instrument was in tune. My role was to design the user experience by creating screen flows and working with a UI artist for final look.

A robust feature that allows users to create any tone from their favorite songs. My role was to design initial mock ups and the high level user experience for stake holder approval. Once green lit, I led the team through development cycle.

Using post launch player data insights I led a strike team to improve the overall user experience by streamlining screen flows and adding new systems such as a guided "quest mode", continuous play, and more player facing stats.

To provide a more authentic experience for our players we incorporated guitar tablature into our game play. My role was to research what competitors where offering and create a more engaging experience through detailed visual designs and working with technical designers to implement.
